Yuan Changming grew up in a remote village, started to learn the English alphabet in Shanghai at age 19 & published monographs on translation before leaving China. With a Canadian PhD in English, Yuan currently lives in Vancouver, where he has worked as an independent tutor, translator & publisher. Writing credits include 9 awards, 14 Pushcart nominations and 16 solo collections as well as appearances in Best of the Best Canadian Poetry (2008-2017), Best New Poems Online and more than 2000 other literary outlets, across 49 countries. Also, Yuan served on the jury, and was nominated, for Canada’s National Magazine Awards (poetry category).
