by Denny Riley
The story is taken from journal entries the author made while working in a rail yard. This was 1968. When he began the job he’d been out of the Air Force for a year after two tours in Southeast Asia where he worked in the target room of a fighter wing that bombed rail yards in North Viet Nam. It is creative nonfiction.
